EMS Children's School and Hostel PDF Print E-mail

Boys in EMS hostelMany EMS missionaries serve where there are no schools for their children, or the standard of education is low. In some areas, the children are forced to learn Islam against the wishes of their parents. Some children are refused entry to schools because of their parents' faith. Because of this dire need, EMS established a boarding school in Jos in 1996. It provides good Christian education to these less-privileged missionary children.

We hope that this school will help prevent our missionaries having to leave the ministry because of lack of education for their children. There is a clear need to establish more such schools in areas like Kano, Katsina, Kaltungo, Bokoland and Sokoto.

EMS Administration is also concerned for the academic advancement of all our missionaries. To help prepare them in all areas of ministry, for now and the future, EMS is providing training in the following area:

  • Continuous Education and Cross-Cultural Training
Missionaries are sent to approved theological and/or missions schools to acquire additional qualifications to face the challenges of the field.
  • Seminars on Specific Topics
We hold seminars for our missionaries from time to time on topics such as power encounter.
  • Short-term Training
This is available for our missionaries every year through the help of our supporters. The programme instructs our missionaries on evangelism, church planting and foreign missions.
